Exclusive: Intermonte SIM names ex-BNPP veteran head of Equity Derivatives Sales
Intermonte SIM has appointed Luigi Belato as head of Equity Derivatives Sales.
Milan-based, Belato joins Intermonte SIM from Mariana Capital Markets where he worked as relationship manager & senior derivatives sales for nearly two years in London. Belato was responsible for promoting the firm’s brand, products and services to clients as well as for generating and implementing investment ideas, among other responsabilities.
Belato formerly worked at BNP Paribas, where he spent almost 11 years holding various positions within the equity space. At BNPP, he served as head of equity, flow derivatives and financing sales responsible for Italy, then for Southern Europe and later for the Middle East. His last position at the French Group was that of senior equity, derivatives and hybrid sales – hedge funds.
The equity sales specialist started his career at Lehman Brothers, where he coursed an internship on equity, flow derivatives and financing sales for one year in London.
Founded as an independent investment bank in 1995, Intermonte’s brokerage activity is addressed to Italian and foreign institutional investors, and the company has ongoing relations with over 450 investors throughout the world. The company also operates in New York with a team dedicated to US investors.
