Generali launches AM division

Italy’s Generali Group has launched Generali Investments Partners SGR, an asset management division that is still pending regulatory approval to start operating.

Generali Investments Partners SGR, not operational yet until it receives approval from the Bank of Italy, has been launched with €1m capital.

According to some local dailies, the division will be led during the next three years by Timothy Ryan  – currently Generali’s CIO and appointed as director of the new business -, Emiliano Di Giammatteo, and Carlo Trabattoni, who previously worked at Schroders.

The launch of Generali Investments Partners SGR is part of Generali’s reshuffle plan of its asset management business, seeking to concentrate it in two divisions, this new entity alongside the recently launched Generali Investments Europe.
