HSBC Global Asset Management appoints new Italy MD
Roberto Citarella has been appointed managing director of HSBC Global Asset Management’s Italian business and will be in charge of Italian and Swiss wholesale clients.
Citarella, who has started his career as private banker in Banca Popolare di Lodi and has worked as portfolio manager for the bank’s HNW clients, will report to HSBC GAM CEO Matteo Pardi.
Having worked in Robert Fleming Sim – currently JP Morgan AM – in 2000, Citarella has joined HSBC GAM in 2001 and has contributed to the launch of the Italian branch, for which he was appointed head of sales in 2002.
Since 2007, he’s been deputy MD of the Italian firm.
HSBC Global Asset Management established its presence in Italy 12 years ago and has AUM of €3.7bn, according to latest published figures.
