Intesa Sanpaolo’s Micheli resigns
Italy’s Intesa Sanpaolo has announced the resignation of Francesco Micheli from its management board.
Micheli (pictured), who joined Intesa’s management board in 2013, will step down from all the positions he held within the group two years earlier the end of his contract.
Micheli will be replaced by Eliano Omar Lodesani, general director of Cassa di Risparmio del Veneto (Intesa Sanpaolo group).
Carlo Messina, CEO and Managing Director of the group, said that Micheli’s resignation followed a company’s decision stating the exit of 170 executives.
“It is a typical mark of his discipline and professionalism that he has decided to be the first executive to sign up to the agreement that he himself ahd drawn up.
“He has made a significant contribution to the success of Intesa Sanpaolo in the various positions he has held within the Group, most recently as Chief Operating Officer,” Messina said.
