Italy extends short-selling ban to September

Italy’s stock market regulator Consob has extended the short-selling ban on selected banking and insurance stocks until September 14.

The restrictions were announced on July 23, initially for a week, on 29 banking and insurance shares.

According to a statement released by the agency, the ban has been extended given the persistent uncertainty on financial markets.
