Italy’s asset management industry posted €29.4bn in Q1

Foreign domiciled funds kept attracting more flows than Italy-domiciled funds by posting net inflows of €17.9bn against €6.6bn.

Open-ended funds led the positive flows by posting €24.5bn over the first three months of the year.

Flexible funds scored the best results in this segment by attracting €12.8bn net inflows, while bond funds posted €8.4bn total inflows in Q1 2014.

Balanced and equity funds were also positive, attracting €2.3bn and €2.2bn respectively.

At the end of March, assets in portfolio management reached a total of €759bn, 55% of the whole industry’s AUM.

At the end of Q1 2013, the Italian asset management industry had total AUM of €1,392bn, Assogestioni also revealed.
