Italy’s assets under management reach €1200bn record, Assogestioni
At the end of the last quarter of 2012, the Italian asset management industry reached record assets under management of €1200bn, according to data released today by the industry body Assogestioni.
During the period, the industry posted negative flows for €4.9bn, while funds attracted more than €1bn inflows.
Inflows were mostly attracted by bond funds, which had €6.7bn inflows during the quarter, and €23bn during the year. The performance was also positive for flexible funds.
On the contrary, Italian funds suffered from negative flows.
More than 50% of assets managed by the industry are invested in portfolio management.
Flows were focused on foreign domiciled funds which during the quarted posted a plus €2.3bn of investments.
