BlackRock has appointed Luca Giorgi (pictured) as head of retail sales in Italy.

Giorgi will report to Andrea Viganò, country head of the Italian branch, and to West Lockhart, co-head of retail sales EMEA.

Giorgi will replace Andrea Argenti, who has left the company. He has already worked at BlackRock’s retail unit for the last nine years, joining the company in 2005 when it was still Merrill Lynch Investment Managers.

Andrea Viganò commented: “We would like to thank Andrea Argenti for his contribution to the growth of our retail business in Italy and we wish him plenty of success in future.

“We are very glad that Luca Giorgi took on the role of head of retail sales in Italy. We trust him to keep high the value of our service to our Italian retail clients.”

The Fund Selector Forum Italy 2014 takes place on 5 November 2014 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Milan.
