Italy’s Metherios sets €2bn AuM target
Italy’s advisory firm Metherios Capital has set a new strategy to grow in the asset management space.
Metherios has completed a €9m capital increase, following which Ofi Infravia e Spqr Capital will be acquired by Valore Italia Holding, the asset management company of the Group.
The aim of the firm is to reach €2bn assets under management in the next two years.
Speaking to Investment Europe, Fabio Palumbo (pictured), chairman of the firm, said Methorios Capital is also looking to expand its presence in key European markets with a focus on London and Paris.
“This decision follows three years of market analysis through which we have found key growth opportunities. Enrico Mocci, who is our chief executive, was previously head of asset management at Capitalia, with €36bn assets, and this strategy is part of our DNA,” he added.
Valore Italia Holding di Partecipazioni will also extend its range of services from fee only to proprietary advisory.
Meanwhile, Metherios will also develop FSA’s authorisations held by SPQR LLP with the launch of an asset management company which will also manage third-party funds.
