Italy’s Mps launches platform for online banking project
Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena (Mps) has launched Widiba, a new platform to implement online banking services for its clients.
As Mps said, the online banking project is part of the plan to relaunch the bank’s business model. “The initiative targets clients new needs and behaviours and aims at creating an innovative relationship between them and the bank,” Mps also said.
The main objective of the new platform is to reach sustainable levels of profitability as part of Mps plan to create a solid basis for a long-term growth.
Andrea Cardamone has been appointed as head of the human digital banking platform. Cardamone has previously worked for Siemens and as head of Gruppo Bipiemme’s Webank.
Mps online bank Widiba will be active from 2014.
