Italian wealth manager Kairos has appointed Pio Benetti as head of its asset management team.

Benetti will be responsible for leading Kairos’ asset management team and will take an active role in monitoring customer services offered by the company to its private banking clients.

Starting his career at Solofin Sim as a financial analyst, Benetti counts with more than 25 years’ experience in asset management (particularly in portfolio management for private banking and institutional clients).

He joins Kairos from Pictet Wealth Management, where he was holding the post of European CIO for the last three years. Formerly he was head of asset management at Intesa Sanpaolo Private Banking. Prior to that, he worked for Ducato Gestioni (MPS Group) as a fund manager responsible for Italian equity funds, and previously worked for ING Sviluppo Gestioni as assistant fund manager.

Paolo Basilico, CEO and founder of Kairos, said: “We are proud to welcome to our team a professional of Pio Benetti’s stature. We view talent acquisition as an ongoing process, and there can be no doubt that Pio Benetti represents an important addition for our company and a further guarantee for our clients, in whom Kairos continues to believe and invest to improve its services and returns.

Benetti said: “Money management is an art, a subtle balance between analysis and creativity, to be practised in a spirit of service towards those who entrust their wealth to us. Kairos has a strong track record of success, in which active management is a key factor. I am grateful for the opportunity afforded to me and very pleased to be joining this team of extraordinary individuals, some of whom are friends with whom I have worked very well in the past.”
