MFS adds to sales team in Italy

MFS Investment Management has appointed Assunta Siviero as sales director for Italy.

Based in MFS’ Milan office, Siviero will continue to develop MFS’ business within the retail channel, partnering with financial consultant networks and their advisers to deliver investment solutions for their end-investors.

With Siviero’s appointment, MFS now has four sales professionals focused on Italy. Siviero will work closely with Davide Franchini, also based in the firm’s Milan office. Franchini joined the firm in May 2014 and was promoted to sales director in January 2016. Siviero and Franchini will be supported by Enrico Pignat, senior sales representative, Italy.

Siviero reports to Andrea Baron, managing director for MFS International and responsible for business development across the Italian region.

Siviero has more than 10 years’ experience in the asset management sector. She joins MFS from Columbia Threadneedle Investments, where she was senior sales manager covering large Italian financial advisor networks and private banks. Prior to that, she spent five years working for Banque Edmond de Rothschild as a relationship manager.

Matthew Weisser, managing director and head of European wholesale distribution for MFS International, said: “We are extremely excited about the growth of our business in Italy over the last few years. The Italian market continues to be a key focus for MFS as our business in Europe evolves, and Assunta will help us to further enhance our coverage in the Italian marketplace.”

“MFS has a well-established footprint in the Italian retail space,” Weisser added.

“Having offered investment strategies to Italian investors since 2005. In recent years, we’ve been encouraged by the increased demand for our product offering from both existing and new clients. I believe the addition of a fourth sales person to the team underscores our continued commitment to the market,” he said.
