Montanino to take key role for Italy at the IMF

Andrea Montanino is set to become managing director for Italy and Southern Europe at the International Monetary Fund.

According to local press reports, Montanino will be appointed on November 1, replacing Arrigo Sadun who has served in the role since 2005.

Montanino is currently managing director at the Italian economic ministry. He has previously been vice-chairman at Banca del Mezzogiorno-MedioCredito Centrale, as well as served on the advisory board of F2i – Fondo Italiano per le Infrastrutture.
