Mussari confirmed as chairman of the Italian banking association
Giuseppe Mussari has been confirmed as chairman of the Italian banking association (IBA).
Mussari (pictured) served as chairman of the association since July 2010 and has been confirmed for another two-years mandate, a spokeperson at the association said.
Mussari was appointed by a committee composed of Camillo Venesio, chief executive at Banca del Piemonte, Giovanni Bazoli, chairman of the supervisory board of Intesa Sanpaolo, Federico Ghizzoni, chief executive at Unicredit, Alessandro Azzi, chairman at Federcasse and Giovanni Berneschi, chairman at Carige.
From April 2006 to April 2012, Mussari was chairman at Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena. On June 12, he resigned from his position of director of AXA due to his professional commitments as chairman of IBA.
In his career in the industry, he has also been chairman of the guidance committee at Cassa dei Depositi e Prestiti and Director at Interbank Deposit Protection Fund and Rosselli Foundation.
