Pioneer expands Italian offering with three bond funds

Pioneer Investments has confirmed the launch of three Italy-domiciled bond funds.

The additional offering has been available to investors since May 2 and will allow clients to increase their geographical and time horizon diversification with a specific focus on risk management.

The three funds are “Pioneer Euro Governativo Medio Termine a distribuzione”, which invests in European government bonds with duration above two years; “Pioneer Obbligazionario Corporate America a distribuzione”, an investment-grade portfolio investing in US corporate bonds; and “Pioneer Obbligazionario Globale High Yield a distribuzione”, which invests in corporate and international government bonds with sub-investment grade rating. The third fund also gives investors significant exposure to emerging markets.

The new initiative follows the launch last February of “Pioneer Obbligazionario Sistema Italia”, a fund focusing on Italian government and corporate bonds.

“The new launch is part of a broader initiative to review and increase our funds range, in line with clients’ appetite for tailored and simple investment alternatives,” said Cinzia Tagliabue, director at Pioneer Investments Italia.

At the beginning of May, Pioneer also introduced a new class of shares that gives investors more flexibility on the fee structure and on underwriting conditions within the same investment strategy.

Pioneer’s fund offering in Italy comprises nine bond funds and six equity funds.
