RWC Partners has appointed Giampaolo Serra as European sales – head of Italian distribution in a move to step up the firm’s sales efforts in Southern Europe.
Serra will focus on building upon RWC’s existing relationships across both institutional and wholesale channels in Southern Europe, with a special focus on the Italian market.
He joins RWC Partners from Brevan Howard where he worked as a senior marketer and account manager for Southern Europe for almost five years. Prior to that, Serra worked as director at Man Group during four years. He also served as a senior consultant at Prometeia and as an equity analyst at BPI Securities.
Serra’s appointment further expands RWC’s sales and investor support team in Continental Europe, following the hire of Pierre Giannini in February 2018.
Tord Stallvik, Head of Business Development, at RWC, says: “This year has been a busy year for us so far, with assets under management growing to c. $16bn, as at the end of August. We continue to see increasing interest from investors in Continental Europe, with demand for our Convertible Bonds, European and Emerging Market Equities and Absolute Return strategies.
“Giampaolo brings deep experience in relevant investment strategies and relationships from within the Italian market in particular that will help us to better reach and service investors in this region.”
