UniCredit confirms Vita as chairman of the board

Italian bank UniCredit has confirmed the appointment of Giuseppe vita as chairman of the board, and confirmed Federico Ghizzoni in the role of chief executive and general manager.

Top management roles were confirmed during the bank’s shareholders meeting on May 11.

The board has also appoined Candido Fois as vice chairman, Khadem Abdualla Al Qubaisi, Vincenzo Calandra Buonaura and Fabrizio Palenzona.

During the same meeting, the board confirmed the corporate governance, human resources and nomination committee, composed of 9 members.

The committee includes the chairman of the board and the chief executive, as well as Calandra, Buonaura, Palenzona, Luigi Maramotti, Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, Alessandro Caltagirone, Antonio Maria Marocco and Anthony Wyand.

“The Committee will convene soon, to make proposals to the Board of directors regarding the composition of the permanent strategic committee, the remuneration committee and the internal controls and risks committee,” the bank said in a statement.
