Janus Henderson adds one to multi-asset team

Janus Henderson Investors has appointed Dean Cheeseman as fund manager within its multi-asset team in London.

Cheeseman, formerly institutional portfolio manager at Mercer, will report to Paul O’Connor, head of Multi-Asset.

Before Mercer, Cheeseman worked in companies such as F&C Asset Management and Morgan Stanley.

Commenting on the appointment, Paul O’Connor said: “I have known Dean for many years and believe his experience and calibre will bring great benefits to our team.

“Dean has an impressive track record of delivering attractive risk-adjusted returns for clients based on his skills in asset allocation and fund selection. His proven ability in raising assets will be invaluable as we focus on exploiting the many growth opportunities facing our multi-asset business at this time.”

Cheeseman’s hire comes after the recent appointment of Nick Harper as portfolio manager and asset allocation specialist.

Also, Chris Forgan, fund manager of Janus Henderson’s multi-asset team, will leave the firm at the beginning of August.

The Janus Henderson multi-asset team manages some £5.1bn of assets for both institutional and retail clients.
