Kefren Capital hires former Santander fund selector

Kefren Capital, a Spanish asset manager specialised in real estate, has hired José Manuel López Mayher as its new director of Investments.

López Mayher joined Kefren on 15 June, the company’s manager of administration and finance, Javier Nieto, told InvestmentEurope.

Previously, López Mayher worked as fund selector specialised in alternative products for Santander Asset Management, where he spent almost four years.

López Mayher is replacing Rafael Alberca, who is now partner director at Wealth Solutions EAFI.

Kefren’s new head of Investments has almost 13 years experience in the financial sector. He started his career at The Boston Consulting Group and then he worked for more than seven years as alternative funds of funds manager at International Capital Research.

Since 2012, López Mayher was in charge of selecting the alternative strategies at Santander Asset Management.

In early May, it emerged that SAM made two new appointments within its selection team.

Last April, Wee-Tsen Lee joined Santander from Barclays Wealth to be responsible for manager selection global & US equities. In addition, Pryesh Emrith was promoted within Santander in March, to be in charge of US & global fixed income and multi-asset.

The two new appointments are based in the group’s London headquarters and work for the Research and Selection team, which works within SAM’s Global Multi-Asset Solutions team and alongside Santander Bank.
