La Française opens office in South Korea

French asset manager La Française has opened a new office in Seoul in South Korea.

The firm has appointed Shawna Yang (pictured) as investor relations director for Asia.

Yang will be based in Seoul and reporting to La Française’s international development director, Philippe Lecomte,

Prior to joining La Française, Yang was head of the Capital Markets division for Cushman & Wakefield (C&W) Korea, She was responsible for assisting Korean investors in cross-border investments as well as foreign investors investing in the Korean real estate market.

Formerly, Yang worked as a real estate fund manager at Mirae Asset Global Investment where she handled direct real estate investment transactions in Korea, India, and Hong Kong.

She was also a part of the fundraising / investor relations team dealing with both Korean and foreign investors.

Lecomte said: “Shawna is in constant dialogue with Korean institutional investors and has been instrumental in several large scale international investments. Shawna Yang’s appointment strengthens the La Française operating platform in Asia, underlining the importance of Korea as a source of outward bound capital and where the group already has established client relationships.”
