Legg Mason ClearBridge fund opens to German investors

LeggMason has announced that its Legg Mason Clearbridge US Equity Sustainability Leaders Fund is now available to investors in Germany and Austria.

The fund, which launched in the third quarter of 2015,  selects Russell 3000 stocks using a proprietary financial screening model combined with ESG scores in order to identify companies with sustainable business models.

The fund is jointly managed by c0-portfolio managers Mary Jane McQuillen (pictured) and Derek Deutsch.“Companies that are including sustainable measures in the management of the business will stand out from their competitors over the long-term”, says Mary Jane McQuillen.

Klaus Dahmann, country Head Germany & Austria at Legg Mason, comments on the registration of the fund: “It is important to look into environmental, sustainability and corporate governance matters in all sectors. It is nearly impossible to achieve success without including these topics in the management of a company. Investors can benefit from the current and future pioneers”.
