Lombard launches family office distribution team
Lombard Odier IM announced the launch of the Lombard Odier IM family offices team, to provide customised services to family offices in Europe.
The team will be led by Ahmed Husain, head of family offices Europe, which will focus on expanding relationships with European single family offices with a net worth of over £1bn. He will be supported by Caroline Crochet, family office Relations. The team will be based in London and report to Carolina Minio-Paluello, global head of Sales and Solutions.
Husain joins from Altice Capital where he was a partner for two years, responsible for managing the firm’s €500m liquid portfolio, including credit and equity investments. He was previously a managing director at Goldman Sachs, where he spent eight years, most latterly advising European Ultra-High Net Worth individuals and their family offices. Ahmed also spent seven years at Lehman Brothers, building and growing the structured credit business.
Crochet previously was at Northern Trust for over five years, where she held a number of roles including client development manager for the EMEA region in the Global Family & Private Investment Offices team, supporting family offices by providing asset administration, investment management, trust and fiduciary solutions. Prior to this, she has worked in the Middle East for an international logistic company in Dubai.
Carolina Minio-Paluello, global head of Sales and Solutions, commented: “The creation of the family office team is in part a natural progression of our distribution model. It is also in response to a growing demand from family offices for our innovative and specialist investment products that help investors face the challenges created by unprecedented low yields and the intervention of central banks.
“Our heritage as an asset manager that is part of a privately owned banking group gives us an intimate understanding and track record of managing the invested assets of families and with Ahmed and Caroline’s expertise, we hope to grow our coverage of family offices across Europe.”
