NewAlpha AM hires global strategist

French global emerging manager seeder NewAlpha AM has appointed Driss Lamrani as global strategist.

Lamrani has almost 15 years’ experience in the financial industry. He was formerly advisor and deputy to GLG Partners’ chief investment strategist.

He forecasted monetary policy, political and geopolitical events and designed investment portfolios for GLG Partners’ global macro and emerging markets funds.

Lamrani has also been working alongside current and former central bankers and politicians to build investment scenarios and forecasts.

He began his career as actuarial consultant, financial analyst and financial engineer for institutions including Arthur Anderson, Credit Lyonnais Securities and Credit Suisse.

NewAlpha has concluded more than 60 strategic partnerships and invested more than €1bn in French and international investment management boutiques.

Adrien Paredes-Vanheule is deputy editor and French-Speaking Europe Correspondent for InvestmentEurope, covering France, Belgium, Geneva and Monaco.
