Newton IM adds head of UK Consultant Relations
Newton Investment Management, part of BNY Mellon, has announced the appointment of Matt Pumo as head of UK Consultant Relations.
Pumo will have a key role further driving the relationships with UK consultants, and looking to build on Newton’s existing relationships across the consultant landscape.
He will join the Institutional Business Development and Marketing team, working alongside Ross Byron-Scott who has a global remit, and will report to Julian Lyne, recently appointed to global head of Distribution.
Pumo has over 15 years’ experience in investment management and joins Newton from Neuberger Berman where he was responsible for developing investment consultant relations in the UK and Europe. He has also previously held roles at Gartmore Investment Management and Liontrust Asset Management.
“Matt brings a wealth of industry knowledge and experience and will support our endeavours to build our relationships with consulting firms.
“He joins Newton at a time when we are in a robust position in 2016 with strong fund performance and with real interest in our capabilities across key areas, such as generating absolute returns, high conviction equity investing and delivering income for clients,” Julian Lyne, Global Head of Distribution, Newton Investment Management, said.
“With his impressive business development experience and deep and established institutional and consultant relationships, he is a welcome addition to the team to further enhance our ability to continue to expand our footprint in the wider and global institutional market,” Lyne added.
