Nikko AM names CEO Emea

Nikko Asset Management has appointed Udo von Werne as Chief Executive Officer of Nikko Asset Management Europe, covering Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (Emea).

He will be responsible for Nikko’s business across this region and its continuing growth strategy. Von Werne reports directly to Takumi Shibata, president and CEO of Nikko Asset Management .

Before joining the firm, Von Werne was head of Institutional Clients for Continental Europe at Pictet Asset Management and held various positions with institutions such as Zurich Financial Services and UBS.

Nikko AM said Emea is a key strategic region with institutional AUM potential of $3.9trn (€3.5trn) or approximately one-third of total global AUM.

The Japanese asset manager had $146.4bn (€130.8bn) in assets under management as at 30 September 2015.
