Berenberg appoints Mickey Levy as chief US and Asia economist
Berenberg has announced the appointment of US economist Mickey Levy to the position of chief US and Asia economist.
Based in New York, Levy will cooperate closely with Holger Schmieding, Berenberg’s Global chief economist.
“Over the past 30 years, Dr Levy has established himself as a leading authority in economics. His appointment as our chief economist for the US, Americas and Asia will further strengthen our growing presence in the US as we continue our expansion after opening offices in New York, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco in the last 4 years,” commented Hendrik Riehmer, managing partner at Berenberg.
Levy joins Berenberg from Blenheim Capital Management LLC, where he spent more than 2 years as chief economist. Prior to that, he spent 15 years as chief economist at Bank of America.
In addition, Levy advises several US Federal Reserve Banks, maintains close relations with executives at the European Commission and Bank of Japan, and is an occasional participant on the US Congressional Budget Offices Panel of Economic Advisors.
