Canadian boutique appoints global equity manager

Toronto based Foyston, Gordon & Payne (FGP) has appointed Stephen Mitchell as global equity portfolio manager.

He will take up his new duties as from 7 September 2016, assuming portfolio management responsibility for FGP’s global and international equity mandates.

The firm said that Andrew Fernow has left the firm to pursue other interests.

Mitchell was most recently portfolio manager, global and US large cap equity funds at Burgundy Asset Management for almost 10 years.

He also served as the portfolio manager for the European equity, EAFE, Balanced Income, and Bond funds over his 23 years with Burgundy.

Established in 1980, FGP manages $13bn (€11.7bn) in assets and runs strategies focusing on Canadian equities, foreign equities, and Canadian bonds.
