Devet Capital Investments gets US marketing licence

Devet Capital Investments, a systematic alternative investment manager, has said it obtained a licence from the US National Futures Association, which means it can market the Devet Capital Absolute Return Strategy to investors in the jurisdiction.

Currently, the firm is authorised and regulated by the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority.

Devet Capital was founded by Irene Perdomo, formerly of Noble Resources Singapore and Barclays London, and Leonardo Marroni, formerly of GLG Partners and Barclays London. Their market neutral systematic strategy for investing in liquid commodity futures and forwards has raised some $27m since opening to external investors in September 2015. Total assets under management are some $35m.

The new licence will be used to “market aggressively our product in the US,” said Irene Perdomo.

The strategy claims to offer low volatility and low correlation to returns from macro hedge funds and commodity market benchmarks.
