ETPs hit $2trn level in US

Data published by ETFGI suggest that the level of assets invested via ETFs/ETPs in the US has passed $2trn in value.

The data, covering the period to 22 December, point to assets increasing this year by 18% from $1.698trn to $2.007trn, as the result of both net new investments as well as market performance.

Some $232bn in net new assets were gathered from the start of 2014, which made it a record year that beat the $190bn gathered in 2013.
