Odey adds co-manager to L/S equity fund

London-based boutique Odey Asset Management has appointed Dipankar Shewaram within its investment team.

He will work alongside Tim Bond managing the Odey Odyssey Fund, a long-short equity strategy.

Shewaram was most recently a strategic consultant adviser to Glendevon King Asset Management and Lincoln Private Investment Office.

Formerly, he has been head of Non US Credit at Western Asset Management and senior portfolio manager at BlueBay Asset Management.

Crispin Odey, founder of Odey Asset Management, commented : “Odey has always combined an understanding of the macro with rigorous stock research. Over the last decade we have built a world class equity research team and Dip joins us as the macro debate moves from noisy to deafening.”

Shewaram said : “Loose monetary policy has created valuation distortions in all asset classes which will lead to good opportunities for our clients.”

Established in 1991, Odey Asset Management had around $8.8bn (€7.99bn) of assets under management as of 30 September 2016.
