Pimco launches IG credit ESG fund

Pimco has expanded its ESG platform with the launch of GIS Global Investment Grade Credit ESG fund. It offers investors access to Pimco’s global investment grade corporate bond strategy with a focus on sustainability issues.

The strategy invests in high quality investment grade corporate bonds while taking into account and promoting ESG aspects. The investment approach combines top-down and bottom-up analysis, takes into account both cyclical and long-term trends, and focuses on diversification.

It will be available in different share classes and currencies and will be managed by the same team as the Pimco GIS Global Investment Grade Credit fund: Mark Kiesel, global credit chief investment officer, portfolio managers Mohit Mittal and Jelle Brons, and Mike Amey, jead of Pimco’s ESG Strategies.

Mike Amey said: “More and more investors are looking to not only achieve their financial goals, but also want to promote positive social and environmental change through their investments. This move will further expand our global ESG platform.”
