Raiffeisen Switzerland CEO to exit

Patrik Gisel, chief executive officer of Raiffeisen Switzerland has decided to leave by end of the year in order to protect the reputation of the bank. The board of directors of Raiffeisen Switzerland has initiated the selection process for a new chairman of the executive board without any delay.

As part of the review of his predecessor Pierin Vincenz, Gisel has been repeatedly criticised as the then-deputy in public.

“With my resignation, I want to calm the public debate about myself and the bank and protect the reputation of Raiffeisen,” said Gisel, who has been the operational director of Raiffeisen Switzerland since October 2015.

The board of directors expressly stated that neither the FINMA enforcement procedure nor the interim results of the ongoing independent “Pierin Vincenz Era” investigation have put Patrik Gisel under scrutiny – his integrity is beyond doubt.
