Reshuffle at Aviva’s Liquid Markets team
Following the announcement of David Lis’ retirement, Aviva Investors has confirmed a new four person strong leadership team for its Liquid Markets unit, which covers multi-asset, fixed income and equities.
Mark Connolly, previously CIO Fixed Income, has been promoted to the role of CIO Liquid Markets. Dan James and Chris Murphy have been promoted to the roles of global head of Fixed Income and global head of Equities, respectively while Peter Fitzgerald will continue as global head of Multi-Asset.
James, Murphy and Fitzgerald will lead each of their respective investment functions with day-to-day responsibility for investment performance, staff and processes. As part of the newly created Investment Leadership team, they will be reporting to Connolly, who will be responsible for helping the business to adapt to the evolving regulatory environment.
Connolly joined Aviva Investors in January 2015 from Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (SWIP), where he was global head of Fixed Income. He has over 30 years of investment industry experience, having started as a fixed income fund manager with Chemical Bank before spending 18 years with Rothschild Asset Management.
