Santander AM strengthens asset allocation team in Spain

Santander Asset Management has hired Francisco Esteban to boost its asset allocation team in Spain.

Esteban will co-manage, together with Manu Garcia Taibo, absolute return products from Spain and Portugal, a spokesperson for the Spanish group told InvestmentEurope.

The executive will also co-manage, along with Oscar Valcarcel, balanced funds from the Luxembourg Sicav, which are addressed to Santander’s private banking.

In addition, he will actively define the equity strategies of Santander AM, the spokesperson said.

Esteban has 20 years experience in absolute return products and asset allocation.

In 2009, Esteban joined Alpha Plus Gestora, where he worked as partner and head of investmetn funds, Sicavs and discretionary absolute return portolios.

Since 2016, Esteban managed the range of three pension funds of the Spanish insurer Grupo Santalucía.

Previoulsy, Esteban worked for Gestifondo, Banesto Banca Privada Gestión, Ahorro Corporación Gestión and BBVA.
