Santander UK deputy CEO exits the firm’s UK unit

Santander UK deputy CEO and head of Retail and Business Banking Javier San Félix, has announced its departure from the firm’s unit and his potential move to a different unit of the group.

Susan Allen, who already works in the same team than San Félix, will replace him in the role of head of Retail and Business Banking.

Although Santander Group has not revealed yet which will be the new role of San Félix, some market’s speculations suggested that he could be moving to Madrid to work within the new team led by Andrea Orcel. Others mentioned the possibility of him moving to the firm’s US subsidiary.

Until May 2012, he was senior executive vice president, responsible for the management of the non-euro markets of Santander Consumer Finance Board of Directors.

Before joining Santander, San Félix was CEO of Banesto until it merged with Santander. Prior to that, he was a senior partner of McKinsey.
