Schroders adds long/short equity fund on alt platform

Schroders is set to launch the Conatus long/short equity strategy on its alternative Ucits GAIA platform on 7 June 2017.

The fund will be a global long/short equity strategy run by Conatus’ founder portfolio manager David Stemerman.

Stemerman has over 20 years’ experience investing in global equities and will be supported by a nine strong investment team in managing the new fund.

The fund’s strategy is based on the same equity long/short process that Conatus has employed since its inception in 2008.

It will seek to outperform equity markets over the long-term, with lower volatility and to preserve capital in declining markets and capture performance in up markets.

The team looks at mispriced opportunities driven by fundamental, bottom-up analysis of companies. It identifies businesses where its expectation for future performance is materially different than the market and the share price offers an asymmetric risk/reward.

Schroders had €486.7bn of assets under management as at 31 March 2017.
