Shariah PRI investor targets Responsible Finance Summit

Sedco Capital, the $3.9bn Saudi asset manager that claims to be the first fully Shariah compliant manager to become a signatory to the UN Principles for Responsible Investment, is set to take part in the upcoming Responsible Finance Summit in Malaysia.

The FR Summit is organised by the RFI Foundation, and co-organised by Middle East Global Advisors, and will target discussions around the growth of responsible investing within the area of Islamic finance.

Currently, while the responsible investment industry has grown globally, most of the managed assets are invested by institutions in developed markets, with limited connections to the Islamic finance industry. However, growth into new markets means that these investors need to build on their understanding of Islamic financial industry requirements, according to comments around the Summit, which takes place 30-31 March.
