Aviva Gestión managing director quits

José Caturla, the long-standing managing director of Spain’s Aviva Gestión, has left his position to pursue new ventures, a spokesperson with Aviva has confirmed to InvestmentEurope.

“After 25 years in the company, and having led the successful positioning of the fund manager, he will be undertaking new personal projects,” the spokesperson said.

Ignacio Izquierdo, currently chairman at Aviva Gestión, will take on the role as managing director, who will continue the teamwork strategy that is core to Aviva Gestión, with a capital preservation and long-term focus.

In 2008, Izquierdo joined Aviva from Grupo Santander, where he was managing director of Santander Asset Management UK.

Prior to that, he was the commercial director and head of marketing at the Abbey division for insurance and asset management, a position which he took up in February 2006.

“Ignacio has extensive experience in the industry, which ensures continuity in the company’s strategy,” the spokesperson said.
