BBVA asset management reshuffles key roles

Eduardo García Hidalgo has been appointed global chief investment officer at Spanish BBVA asset management.

Hidalgo was previously CIO for Europe at the bank, and takes the role from Julio Sobremazas who has been promoted to head of global equities at BBVA Corporate and Investment Banking.

The appointments follow the recent hires of Luis Megías, head of BBVA asset management Europe and of Paloma Piqueras, head of global BBVA asset management.

BBVA asset management is present in Spain, Mexico, Peru and Colombia and has 700 employees.

It has about €18.5bn under management.
