BBVA leads Spanish AM industry

At the end of June, total industry’s AUM in Spain increased by 6.3% in Q2 2014, industry association Inverco has revealed.

BBVA Group was still at the top of Inverco’s ranking of asset management companies in Spain with total AUM €48.6bn, some €29bn of which were in asset management services and €12.6bn in pension funds.

Santander Group followed closely with total AUM of €47.3bn, €30.8bn of which were invested in the asset management segment.

Catalan La Caixa confirmed its third position, reporting total AUM of €44.3bn, €27bn of which in InverCaixa Gestion and €17bn in VidaCaixa, the group’s pension fund provider.

A significant gap divided the first three ranked groups to the fourth and fifth ones, Bankia and Banco Sabadell, which respectively reported AUM of €15.8bn and €14.8bn.

The industry total AUM went from €365.9bn and €388.7bn at the end of June, Inverco also revealed.
