Dolores Ybarra appointed Santander AM global chief investment officer
Santander Asset Management has appointed Dolores Ybarra as its global chief investment officer in a move designed to further strengthen the company’s global structure.
She will manage Santander AM’s global multimanager (third party fund selection and management), macro research and investment strategy teams, as well as regional fixed income and equity mandates including Latin America equity, Latin America fixed income, Europe equity and Europe fixed income.
Ybarra will also be in charge, together with CEOs in the various country units, of the local investment teams and will participate in the definition of the investment strategies.
She will report to Juan Alcaraz, global head of Santander AM, who in the last few years has strived to combine the local strengths and capabilities of the nine local asset management companies that Santander has in Europe and Latin America with a global structure which provides strong management capabilities and synergies in product innovation and sales.
Ybarra will combine her new role with her current responsibilities as CEO of Santander AM Spain until a substitute is appointed. Ybarra, who has over 20 years experience in financial markets,
Santander AM is present in 11 countries in Europe, Latin America and North America and has over €141bn in assets under management.
