Horos AM is born in Spain

Spain’s private equity and venture capital firm Qualitas Equity Group has expanded its financial services with the launch of Horos Asset Management.

The new asset management arm of Qualitas Equity, recently registered in the Spanish CNMV, will be lead by the Spain’s AM industry veteran José María Concejo as the firm’s chairman and CEO.

Concejo, with 26 years’ experience in the industry, will work with Vicente Asuero and Óscar Pérez. Concejo joins the new manager from Metagestión where he was the company’s CEO. Prior to that, he was responsible for sales and marketing at W4i. He also worked at various companies including Green Arrow Capital, Allianz Global Investors as Iberia country head, JP Morgan AM, Beta Capital MeesPierson and ABN AMRO – holding always sales and marketing-related positions.

According the Qualitas Equity group, the launch of Horos AM is aimed at exploring new business horizons, while taking advantage of the group’s synergies to design regulated funds, of traditional assets, with daily or regular liquidity aimed at retail clients. However, the manager has still to define its business plan as well as to appoint investment managers for its new asset management team.

The Qualitas Equity group – with some €1bn in assets under management – has traditionally focused on SMEs in niche sectors with high growth prospects and also in companies operating in large markets with a differentiate business model, as well as in alternative assets such as venture capital, renewable energy and real estate.
