Ibercaja Gestión names new director

Ibercaja Gestión has named Lily Corredor its new director following Valero Penón move to the role of director of the manager’s risks control department.

Corredor, succeeding Penón who has been Ibercaja’s director during the past 14 years, joined the entity in 1991. Prior to being promoted, Corredor held various positions during her tenure at Ibercaja, being the most recently that of head of client resources operations, a role she has held for the past eight years.

The appointment reinforces Ibercaja’s bet on internal promotions, which the entity considers one of its key elements of success.

The bank’s assets under management have increased by 2% over the first nine months of the year, amounting to €12.59bn as of the end of September. This growth is partly explained by the €365m poured into investment funds in Spain, Ibercaja has said.

As of the end of September, the entity held a seventh position in the national ranking of asset managers in Spain with regards to its assets under management.
