Julius Baer names new head of Portfolio Management Iberia

Swiss banking group Julius Baer has appointed Almudena Benedit (pictured) as head of Portfolio Management Iberia.

Based in Madrid, Benedit is responsible for the team of Julius Baer Gestión SGIIC, reporting to Carolina Martínez-Caro, head Spain Domestic.

She succeeds Pelayo Gil-Turner Smith, who has decided to pursue a new professional challenge outside the firm.

Benedit joins from Caixabank AM, where she was in responsible for portfolio management and so-called Sicavs (open-ended collective investment schemes).

She formerly held the same role at Barclays Wealth, where she started in 2006. Benedit was also member of the global investment committee of Barclays Wealth in London.

Prior to that, she worked with Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank.
