Mutuactivos hires Ortiz from Omega Capital as investment director

Spanish asset manager Mutuactivos has appointed Emilio Ortiz as the company’s investment director.

Ortiz, to be reporting to CEO Luis Ussia, will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing equity and fixed income management areas, as well as for the analysis and selection of assets – both in mutual funds and in pension funds.

With over 23 years’ experience, Ortiz joins Mutuactivos from Omega Capital, where he worked as director of Capital Markets for the past 13 years. Prior to that, he worked as equity director at Invercaixa for five years and previously he held various senior investment management positions in companies in the US, Argentina and Spain.

The appointment comes in a period of growth for the entity – having recently launched its 2018-2020 strategic plan – which aims at positioning itself as the first non-banking asset manager in Spain.
