N+1 Syz strengthens private banking activity in Spain with Barcelona hires
N+1 Syz, the Spanish private banking subsidiary of Swiss banking group Syz & Co, has reinforced its presence in Barcelona with the appointments of private bankers Jordi Grau and Sergio García.
The bank has three offices in Spain, in Madrid, Barcelona and Bilbao, and €700m in assets under management with a team of 15 senior private bankers.
Grau and García were both previously senior executives at La Caixa’s private banking division in Catalonia.
N+1 Syz launched its private banking division a year and a half ago with several executives with private banking experience at a national and international level.
By combining Banque Syz & Co’s international asset management expertise and experience of high-end private banking with N+1’s in-depth local market knowledge, the company can offer a added-value proposition to clients, it said in a statement.
Syz & Co was founded in 1996 by Eric Syz, Alfredo Piacentini and Paolo Luban. The bank specializes in asset management through three complementary lines of business: private banking, institutional management and investment funds. It has assets of CHF25bn (€20.6bn, £17.7bn) under management and employs a staff of 430.
