Pictet appoints Romeu Sagredo López in Madrid
Swiss private bank Pictet & Cie has appointed Juan Ignacio Romeu Sagredo López to its wealth management division in Madrid.
Romeu Sagredo López (pictured) joins from UBS Wealth Management in Madrid, where he spent eight years, having previously worked at Spanish Banco Urquijo, CNMV national financial investments authority and Arthur Andersen.
“The decision to hire Juan Ignacio Romeu allows to keep growing in Spain, a country which the Bank considers strategic in its international development”, said Luis Lamadrid Sánchez, Spanish managing director of the private banking division.
Pictet’s five years goal in Spain is to become a reference for €5 to 10m average accounts. Lamadrid added that the Spanish market is one of the most competitive in Europe.
Pictet WM has 18 people in the country with offices in Madrid and Barcelona. It has operated in the market since 2003.
