Santander WM poaches former Bankinter private banker

The wealth management division of Santander (Santander WM) has appointed Alfonso Castillo to hold responsibilities for high net worth clients globally.

Castillo joins Santander WM from Bankinter, where he was managing director of the HNWI asset management unit. Prior to that, he worked during three years at Barclays Spain also responsible for high net worth clients and formerly, worked at Credit Suisse for nine years.

Santander’s WM division, launched in September 2017, integrates private banking services and asset management businesses from the banking group. The wealth management arm, led by Víctor Matarranz, was created aimed at enabling the Group to provide better service to Santander’s global private banking customers and build on its competitive advantage in 10 major markets, the Group said.
