Spain’s Cygnus AM names new CEO

Cygnus Asset Management has promoted Blanca Gil Antoñanzas to the new chief executive officer (CEO) responsible for the Spanish market.

Gil has worked at Cygnus since its inception in 2006, being responsible for various areas including regulation, compliance, corporate governance, marketing, and relations with investors.

With some 25 years’ experience, Gil previously worked at the Key Clients team of UBS Spain, managing wealthy clients’ portfolios. She also worked at BNP Paribas, responsible for the origination of fixed income during more than two years.

Prior to that, Gil worked for five years at AB Advisers, where she worked for the fixed income and asset management department, as well as developing marketing activities among local institutional investors.

Cygnus Asset Management, with some €400m in AUM, is an independent manager specialised in absolute return strategies. It currently manages two investment strategies for alternative management and absolute return: a long short fund focused on utilities, energy, renewables and infrastructures and another fund specialising in corporate events and special situations in Europe.
