Spain’s Banca March creates unit for institutional investors

Banca March has created the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) unit with the aim to become a reference for institutional clients within the Spanish banking sector.

The new unit will focus on two type of customers. On the one hand, those entities regulated by the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV, in Spanish), such as asset managers or independent advisory companies (Eafis, in Spanish). On the other, institutions regulated by the General Directorate of Insurance (DGS, in Spanish), such as insurers.

The first group of clients can access services including execution of third party funds, credit operations, treasury, creation of funds and Sicavs and other auxiliary services such as administration, depository and custody of securities.

The second group can benefit from solutions such as portfolio management or alternative liquidity products.

The new division will expand the bank’s range of services, and will complement the business lines of private banking, commercial banking and corporate banking.
